90 Minutes for Mandela....

Another perfect day in Africa. More training, more fitness assessments, more rugby on ridiculously photogenic beaches. We're collecting pics from the staff and will upload shortly.

Here's some breaking news though - on Wednesday 18th, following the first match with Zwaanswyk, we've managed to get hold of tickets for the "90 Minutes for Mandela" soccer match, to celebrate the 89th birthday of former South African President, Nelson Mandela. The Fifa-endorsed game features an African XI versus a Rest of the World XI, with many greats of the sport (including Pele!) participating. Newlands will host the game, with kick off scheduled for 20h00

As part of the festivities, FIFA will be conferring honorary membership status on the Makana Football Association, the football team started by a grouping of prisoners on Robben Island during the apartheid era. Worth boys are of course due to visit Robben Island on the following day (19th July...)
